Terms of service

01Eligibility

To use 1:1 you must:

• be 18 years or older;
• be legally able to enter this contract where you live;
• never have been convicted of a sexual or violent offence;
• not be prohibited from using the service by any prior enforcement action.

We may (and do) use identity verification to enforce this, and may refuse, suspend or revoke access where eligibility is in doubt.

02Your account

• One person, one account. Face verification enforces this. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
• Be yourself. Your photos must be of you; your details must be true. Impersonation is grounds for immediate removal.
• Keep your number. Sign-in is tied to your phone number via one-time codes; you are responsible for activity on your account.

03The AI

1:1 is built around AI: a matchmaker persona learns about you in conversation, selects matches, writes compatibility analyses, and can stand in for you or your match when either of you is away (always visibly labelled “via Sam” or “via Sky”). By using 1:1 you accept that:

• AI-generated content can be imperfect, incomplete or plain wrong. It is offered as conversation and perspective — not professional advice of any kind;
• match selection is automated and deliberate — there is no guarantee of a match, of a particular match, or of chemistry;
• when a member's matchmaker stands in for them while they are away it does so on that member's behalf; the member remains responsible for reviewing their conversation when they return.

04Conduct

The full house rules live in the community guidelines, which are part of these terms. In short, you must not:

• harass, threaten, deceive or exploit anyone;
• post sexual, violent, hateful or illegal content;
• solicit money, sell anything, or promote services;
• use the service for research, scraping, or training AI systems;
• attempt to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
• involve anyone under 18 in any way (see child safety standards).

05Your content

You own what you create — your photos, messages and voice notes. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, display and transmit that content solely to operate and improve the service as described in the privacy policy. This licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems.

We may remove any content that violates these terms, and we respond to lawful notices.

06Subscriptions & purchases

Parts of 1:1 may require a paid subscription. When bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, billing, renewal and cancellation are handled by the store under its terms, and refunds follow the store's policies. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your store account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period except where required by law. Prices may change with notice before your next renewal.

07Safety

We verify faces, not histories. We do not run criminal background checks on members. Be careful, meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and never send money to someone you have not met. Blocking and reporting are one tap away — use them. More in the community guidelines.

08Termination

You can delete your account at any time (Me tab → Delete account at the bottom, or see the deletion page). We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, put members at risk, or where the law requires — with notice unless safety or law prevents it. Sections that by nature survive (content licence wind-down, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive termination.

09Disclaimers

The service is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that matches will be made, that members are compatible, that AI output is accurate, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, nor for the conduct of any member on or off the service; and our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period or USD 50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi, India — unless the consumer-protection law where you live gives you a non-waivable right to something else.

12The rest

• If we change these terms materially, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect; continued use is acceptance.
• If any clause is unenforceable, the rest stand.
• Not enforcing a clause once is not a waiver of it.
• These terms, the privacy policy, the community guidelines and the child safety standards are the whole agreement.
